Interaction with SG made easy through his Blog!!!

From the time of his arrival, the Superintendent General (SG) Mr Themba Kojana has advocated the concept of building a team and change management, professing that he has come to be part of a team, also to build a team that will take the department forward and change the narrative about the department.

Promoting good working relations and excellent service delivery have been at the helm of his period in the department. He seeks to build a workforce that is motivated, willing to embrace positive change and eager to serve.

It is against this background that the Department together with the SG have come up with and created a blog for the Head of Department, where Mr. Kojana will personally be responsible for the content and interacts with his constituency. The link to the SG’s Corner Blog is available on the ECDoE website ( top right.

This platform will afford all stakeholders (teachers, parents, learners and administrators) an opportunity to engage with the SG, ask questions and discuss a wide range of topics that speaks to development and transformation of the department.

He has committed to avail himself on this platform at least once a week (Fridays), for an hour from 14h00-15h00. During this time, he will be opening up a chance for interaction, as well as unpacking his vision going forward. Follow him on his Blog ( and ECDoE Social Media ( and He urged all stakeholders to follow him on these forums.

Should I say this is yet another venture for more better things to come!
I guess its a thumbs up to our EC Prov. to continuously seek improved communication strategies with the Community in order to get a better understanding of our relations.

Personally I guess adding links to database and site links of individual stakeholders inparticular external stakeholders with offerings for Education Sector will add more value. Parents and leaners especially Grade 12’s will find it interesting to have this website as a “complete” platform wherein one can find links to bursaries, learner ships, announcement of application time frames and deadlines from various stakeholders.

Secondly in order to promote much interaction , Google analytics can be added on site as a tool to monitor site visitation statistics or maybe any other software out there that can provide detailed data of traffic concentration, etc. This will help in making analysis of what kind of provision is appealing to the various stakeholders and education recipients.

Lastly I would imagine “live chat” tools on site which also help as live client care/service mechanism. So far the twitter or WhatsApp platforms if still operational are as well good in promoting interaction. So far so good!
